Charlie’s Old Time Rubbish Removal is a small privately owned local company doing business all over the Ocean State. We started as a residential trash service provider in the town of North Kingstown, and while this is still our #1 priority, we have grown to include commercial waste management services and dumpster rental service all over Rhode Island.

Our Team

Merrill "Butch" Jencks

Owner

Butch is a Rhode Island native who has been in the waste management industry since his pre-teen years. You may know him from past business ventures such as B+L Waste Handling, South County Sanitation, Northeast Regional Disposal, and Haul-Away Inc. After retiring, Butch needed something to occupy his time and decided to go back into the waste hauling business (will this man ever take a day off?!). Charlie’s Rubbish Removal quickly became his pride and joy - alongside his 9 grandchildren.

Chanel Ashton

Full-time daughter/Part-time Secretary

Chanel is Butch’s daughter and has been around the waste industry for her whole life. She has a husband and young son and daughter and resides in Warwick RI. Chanel works full time as a project manager for a large corporation and does payables every Saturday morning for Charlie’s Rubbish Removal. You will often hear the kids in the background when she answers the phone.

Val, Office Admin & Customer Service

Office Manager extraordinaire, if you have called Charlie’s Rubbish Removal you probably talked with Val. She keeps us organized, on task and customer-focused. Val greets every day with a smile, dedicated to serving customers with trash and garbage needs - and when the unexpected happens, she jumps in headfirst with quick with effective solutions, active listening and dependable action.

Our Drivers

Charlie’s Rubbish Removal professional and friendly drivers are as dependable as they are timely. We challenge all our employees, including drivers, to look at situations as if they were the customer - and deliver whenever possible.
